Working With IstaraCollab

Honoring cultural wisdom through song, enabling voices to resonate beyond borders.

Entering the Work

Because this work depends on depth, trust, and shared attentiveness, I encourage artists to spend time with the materials available on this site before considering whether a collaboration may be a good fit.

Purpose and Focus

IstaraCollab is a free-of-charge initiative supporting artists in Central and Eastern Europe, especially those working in Croatia, Czechia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The focus of the work is intercultural English lyric adaptation: shaping English versions of songs in ways that preserve voice, identity, and emotional power, without asking artists to sound like someone else. Lyrical translation follows as a final, aligning movement when the English lyric is brought into the songwriter’s original melody.

Readiness and Alignment

This collaboration is intended for artists who already have a developed artistic voice and who feel ready to explore how their music might travel into English while remaining true to its origin. The pages outlining process, ethics, and approach are therefore not formalities. They describe the conditions under which this work can take place with care; for the song, for the artist, and for the cultural ground from which the work emerges.

Responsibility and Care

High-quality facilitation offered in this way, without stakeholder interest or commercial claim, comes with responsibility. It reflects a shared understanding that work grounded in language, culture, and lived experience deserves seriousness, continuity, and respect, regardless of whether it is exchanged for payment.

Conditions of Collaboration

For this reason, collaboration here is not casual in nature. It asks for presence, intention, and sustained engagement from both sides. What matters most is not urgency, visibility, or outcome, but readiness: a willingness to engage slowly, to listen closely, and to enter the work with care.

Collaborations are therefore selective and guided by mutual alignment and trust.

An Open Invitation

If this approach resonates with where you are in your artistic journey, I welcome thoughtful conversation.
