Ethical Considerations

This collaboration welcomes artistic freedom of expression and the full human range of emotion, experience, and cultural identity. Music has always been a vessel for joy, grief, resistance, memory, and the conditions of being human.

I am not here to limit artistic content, impose ideology, or steer creative direction. I respect that artists explore complex, painful, and sometimes controversial themes. Art should not be confined to comfort; it must be allowed to speak from lived experience.

That said, there are a few boundaries I keep for ethical reasons. I do not participate in projects that directly incite violence against individuals or groups, or that promote political propaganda, hatred, or harm. These boundaries are not about protecting myself, they are about protecting the dignity of human expression and the spirit of collaborative art.

Within those boundaries, I welcome the full spectrum of artistic expression: personal, social, cultural, historical, spiritual, and emotional. I respect that each artist speaks from their own cultural context, and I do not assume my own values should take precedence over theirs.

Confidentiality and Privacy

I work with artists in complete confidentiality.

I do not publicize collaborations, use artists’ work for promotion, or disclose the names of artists I work with unless explicitly invited to do so. Artists are under no obligation to mention or acknowledge our collaboration publicly.

This approach reflects my belief that artistic work requires a protected space, one in which ideas, drafts, uncertainties, and evolving intentions can be explored without concern for external visibility.

If an artist feels that our collaboration has been valuable, I may ask for permission to share their contact details with other artists who are considering working with me. This is entirely optional, and no information is shared without explicit consent.

I am also open to signing a non-disclosure agreement if an artist prefers additional formal assurance.

Confidentiality here is not a legal posture but an ethical one. It is part of how I honor the trust placed in me and the integrity of the collaborative process.

Intellectual Property and Artist Ownership

All intellectual property remains entirely with the artist.

My role in the collaboration does not grant me any rights, licenses, ownership, or claims of any kind to the artist’s lyrics, compositions, recordings, performances, or creative output, whether in the original language, in English translation, or in any adapted form.

I do not seek publishing rights, songwriting credits, royalties, licensing interests, or future claims. The work remains the artist’s alone, in every respect.

There is no hidden exchange, deferred compensation, or implied obligation attached to the work.

My involvement is facilitative and interpretive: I support the artist in developing English-language lyric adaptations, lyrical translations and vocal clarity, but I do not become an owner, co-author, or rights-holder of the material.

If an artist prefers additional formal assurance, I am open to signing a simple written statement clarifying these boundaries.

This clarity is intentional. It allows the collaboration to take place in trust, without ambiguity, and without pressure or expectation beyond the work itself.

Collaboration and Responsibility

Translation and adaptation within this work unfold through conversation and shared attention. My role is to support listening, reflection, and possibility, rather than to fix or determine meaning. The artist remains the final voice in how their work finds expression in English and how it is shared as it moves outward beyond its place of origin. Any version that enters the public world does so through the artist’s own sense of readiness, understanding, and choice.
